GNHT Board of Trustees (BOT) Composition and Rights

The GNHT Board of Trustees (BOT) shall consist of community members who contribute $10,000 or more toward the purchase, construction, or renovation of the temple property. BOT membership is permanent and may be transferred only to immediate family members.

The BOT member family is entitled to a maximum of two votes, provided the family’s total contribution exceeds $50,000.

An elected officer of another organization may serve on the GNHT BOT if their organization contributes $25,000 or more to GNHT. If the organization donates over $100,000, up to two elected officers from that organization may serve as BOT members.

Rights and Duties of the Board of Trustees (BOT):

  • BOT members shall be regarded as lifetime members of GNHT and are exempt from paying annual membership dues.
  • All BOT meetings shall be open to the public; however, community members may only speak when invited by the BOT Chairperson.
  • The BOT shall approve all major one-time expenditures exceeding $5,000 proposed by the Board of Directors (BOD) for temple operations or improvements.
