- Safety: The safety of all devotees and volunteers is our foremost priority.
- Respect and Courtesy: Volunteers must demonstrate courtesy toward all devotees and fellow volunteers, thereby fostering a respectful environment. In turn, devotees are expected to extend the same level of respect and courtesy to volunteers.
- Commitment: Volunteering represents a formal commitment. Volunteers are required to notify the Committee Chair or Scheduling Coordinator of any planned absences to ensure effective coordination.
- Flexibility: Volunteers must be prepared to accommodate schedule adjustments arising from unforeseen circumstances.
- Adherence to Tradition: Volunteers are expected to honor Hindu traditions and comply with all cultural guidelines, including the prescribed dress code, as determined by Temple Management.
- Inclusivity: Our temple extends a welcome to devotees of all faiths. GNHT reserves the right to restrict or terminate volunteer participation when necessary.
- Liability: GNHT assumes no responsibility for any injury, disability, or loss of personal belongings occurring on the temple premises.
Volunteer Roles
Pooja & Temple Support
- Assisting with pooja setup
- Helping devotees with guidance and materials
- Offering prasad and lighting diya
- Opening and closing the temple
Creative & Cultural Seva
- Making garlands
- Preparing prasad
- Helping with festive & event decorations
Facility & Grounds Seva
- Kitchen cleanup and utensil washing
- Organizing supplies and disposal
- Yard cleaning and outdoor maintenance
- Light sweeping, walkway cleaning, and seasonal outdoor prep
Youth Volunteer Program (Ages 12–18)
Our youth volunteers play a special role at GNHT! Students can earn community service hours, build leadership skills, and
engage in meaningful cultural service. This is a wonderful opportunity for middle and high school students to connect with
culture, learn responsibility, and serve the community with joy. Youth volunteers assist with:
- Helping with pooja setup and decorations
- Supporting younger kids during Balvihar or events
- Assisting with prasad distribution
- Festival prep, art projects, cleanup, and yard help
